The Crisp County Outreach Center promotes health consciousness through instruction
and facilities for use by patients and, on a limited basis, the general public.
The Industrial Health Program tailors health and wellness services to local businesses and industries by offering easy access to health tests, employee physicals, pre-employment programs, and other health assessment needs.
Local Health Services Turner County has two local medical facilities: The Phoebe Family Medical Center and Health-Plus. Also, there are two local dentists in town.
Ashburn HealthCare is a 76-bed general care nursing home. On staff are three physicians, two dentists, a dietitian, a recreation director, and a social services director.

Turner County Civic Center In April, 1989, a multi-million dollar, 1,600 seat civic center/gymnasium was completed. Included are basketball facilities, a large state auditorium, meeting room, and locker room facilities.

Recreation:
Many of Georgia's lakes and state parks are within easy access of Turner County. In addition, Ashburn maintains a public recreation center with picnic areas, 4 baseball/softball fields, and a fishing area. An archery range and three hunting reserves, Lime Creek, Wolf Creek, and Hat Creek Plantation are also located within the county.
Two state parks, Georgia Veterans Memorial and Reed Bingham, are located 20 and 40 minutes, respectively, from Ashburn. Georgia Veterans has cottages available for rent as well as a museum housing photos, maps, display weapons, and outdoor military exhibits. Reed Bingham has a 375-acre lake, beach area, and hiking trails. Both parks offer tent and RV sites, swimming, boating, skiing, and fishing.
Crystal Beach is a 30-acre lake located in Ocilla, just 15 minutes from Ashburn. A diverse array of activities is offered, including a water park, boating, water-slides, swimming, sunbathing, snacks, and a high-speed roller coaster .
Lake Blackshear, 20 minutes away, is 13,000 acres of water and camping sites. Fishing, boating, and swimming are also available as well as an 18-hole golf course.
The Georgia Agrirama is located 15 minutes away, where Georgia's history around the 1800's is preserved.
An important aspect of Ashburn's cultural life is its participation in the South Georgia Arts Alliance. This alliance of eight counties was established by Abraham Baldwin College's Arts Experiment Station (AES), an innovative and unique part of the college. The AES serves as the hub for five individual county arts councils. Sustaining a membership of over 1,250 families throughout an eight-county area. The AES instigated the first public fund drive for surrounding arts councils, initiated 12,000 students, and equipped five public libraries with multipurpose rooms to house art exhibits. In addition, the AES established two community theaters, a regional concerts association, a weavers guild, and a writers guild. The Ashburn Arts Council co-sponsors seven to eight performances per year. Programs include dancers, musicians, children's theater, art exhibits, and an annual Arts Fair.
Also, yearly events in Turner County include the Fire Ant Festival and the Christmas Parade.
